Standard Cellular Shades

Cellular shades give a soft, warm feeling to any room. The way that the light filters through the fabric gives a wonderful glow to the room and at the same time it filters out the harmful, damaging UV Rays making them very energy efficient. They keep a lot of the cold out in the winter and the heat out of your home in the summer. We also have room darkening and blackout versions which block out almost all of the light making it a perfect solution for bedrooms. Cellular shades can be used in most any room setting and when lifted up the stack is so minimal that they are great for rooms with a view.

How Cellular Shades Work

Windows are the greatest source of wasted energy in your home. That's because heat always moves from warm to cold areas. In winter, warm air from inside your home is trying to escape through your windows. In summer, the sun beating down conducts heat quite easily through your windows, heating up your home and straining air conditioners. In the end, you pay for this extra use of energy to heat and cool your home. Energy Smart Cellular Shades are effective treatments for even the draftiest windows by creating a formidable seal against air leaks. The increased efficiency leads to less energy waste and lower overall energy bills.

Single Cell vs. Double Cell and Pleat Size.

A double cell honeycomb shade is more energy efficient than a single cell shade. In terms of cell size you want to cover a window with the fewest cells possible for the greatest level of insulation and so for very large windows the 3/4" pleat is ideal but for the average size window the 3/8" double cell provides the best overall value.

Privacy and Light Control

Light Filtering and Blackout refers to the amount of light that enters a room through the fabric. For light filtering fabrics the fabric color determines the amount of light e.g. white colors cast a bright light - dark colors, not so much. At night passerbys will see shadows but not detail. Absolutely no light penetrates the blackout fabric and it provides complete privacy to the outside.

Ease of Installation

Installation doesn't get any easier than this. Most shades have two brackets and they only need one screw each. If you are installing these on French doors be sure to order the free hold down brackets.
